Autonet hires Scott Greenhill and Steve Murphy to lead diversification and growth

Autonet Insurance Services, the digitally focused insurance broker specialising in van and car insurance, has made two senior appointments to newly created roles to develop its specialist, affinity and commercial propositions.

Scott Greenhill will join as Director of Underwriting where he will work closely with insurers to develop new affinity propositions. Scott will also be responsible for expanding Autonet’s product such as into niche motor insurance, including through acquisitions of brokers or books of businesses.

Scott joins after 10 years at LV=, including six years as head of personal lines underwriting at LV= Broker. He has 28 years’ experience in the insurance industry.

Steve Murphy has joined as Director of Commercial Trading and will lead Autonet’s growth in SME insurance. Autonet already writes £10m GWP in commercial insurance and Steve will be responsible for growing this through product and panel development, optimising distribution channels and exploring cross selling opportunities.

Steve joins from Swinton, where he worked for 28 years. He developed Swinton’s commercial panel proposition and was most recently head of insurer development.

Autonet handles over 1.2 million calls a year and works with over 30 of the leading and most trusted insurance providers. In 2016 we placed over £125m in gross written premiums on behalf of our customers.

Autonet was named personal lines broker of the year and independent broker of the year at the Insurance Times Awards in 2014 and selected as a finalist for the UK Broker of the Year award at the British Insurance Awards 2015.

The company has raised over £100,000 for local and national charities nominated by staff in the last five years.
