Here at Autonet Insurance we will be supporting the Douglas McMillian Bring a Pound Day which will take place Friday 12th October.
The Douglas McMillian bring a pound day is held every year which sees businesses across Stoke-on-Trent getting involved and trying to raise as many funds as possible for such a great charity.
The hospice was first established in 1972 that provides care for patients, bereavement support, physiotherapy, psychology and diversion therapies. It costs £8 million a year to keep the hospice open with over 700 volunteers working in all areas of the hospice. Douglas McMillian hold fundraising events all year round with different charity runs, walks and days to raise vital money to provide care.
Last year we supported Bring a Pound Day and raised £500 but this year we have set the bar high to beat last year’s total. A target of £700 has been set and to raise the money we will be selling cakes and having our very own sweet sale.
Ian Donaldson Managing Director of Autonet Insurance commented: “Autonet Insurance are proud supporters of the Bring a Pound day. It’s a great day for everyone to give a pound to Douglas Macmillan Hospice and help them to provide care and treatment that is needed.”
Do you want to get involved? We would encourage anyone to get involved with Bring a Pound and have some fun. The day can be made entertaining by using it as a fancy dress day or dress down day. If every business in Staffordshire supported a great day that is Bring a Pound, the amount that could be raised would make an incredible difference to the hospice.
Check out next week’s blog to see how much we raised for Bring a Pound Day!
